Hail, traveller from afar!

My name is Fenix Silvermoon, and I welcome you to my small digital abode in this backwater corner of the world wide web dedicated to Dungeon Synth and related music genres. You may have heard of Dungeon Synth before, because it’s been growing in popularity thanks to the boom of the internet. I will be a guide of sorts. After all, there is much to discover. Perhaps a little too much, if we're honest with ourselves.

Music, as you will find out, can move me to my core. Alas, I’m no musician myself, so I prefer writing over composing. This way, I can promote the scene in a way which fits me better, a scene which has inspired me more than anything else in recent years. Expect record reviews of Dungeon Synth with a fantastical or medieval theme (both old and new releases, no AI), spotlights and thoughts on the wonderful persona living the Dungeon Synth dream, the occasional gig or festival report, and blogs related to the scene in general, be they related to the past, present or future. I do this with the humblest of expectations. English is not my native language, yet I decided to create an English website anyway in earnest hopes of reaching a wider audience. Writing about Dungeon Synth is already obscure enough, let alone in Dutch. I want to give something back to a genre which has given me much.

There will be no daily, weekly, or monthly blogs. I write at a non-committal pace which comes and feels natural. If anything, it’s a creative exercise for me, as well as a means to give something back to a genre and scene which has given me both joy and solace the last couple of years. I prefer quality of quantity. As such, long radio silences in between may occur, though I will never lose sight of this blog. I do not use AI of any kind in the creation or cultivation of this website, and I intend to keep it that way as much as possible.
